Parent-Teacher Organization
The mission statement of the Mason Preparatory School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) reads as follows: The purpose of the organization shall be to provide support for the Mason Prep School, its programs, activities, and events, as well as to further communication between the Headmistress and the parents. We will promote volunteerism through participation of the parents, faculty, and staff for the unified spirit of the school.

The Mason Prep PTO is an active group at the school, comprised of an elected and appointed volunteer Board of Directors and a general membership, made up of Mason Prep families. This organization is governed by a set of By Laws and policies and procedures and through its various programs works to help the school in many ways.
The PTO is in charge of and manages the school's daily lunch program and the Physical Education uniform sales (new and used). The organization also provides continual support for faculty, staff and students and strives to maintain open lines of communication via a monthly newsletter, email distribution lists, and monthly board meetings. The organization also manages the important program of coordinating homeroom parents, who assist teachers in countless ways from reading to classrooms to hosting field day and classroom parties. The PTO has a committee in place to welcome new families with events throughout the year to insure their easy transition.
Through annual fundraising, the organization is able to completely fund most in-town field trips for grades 1-8, as well as provide monetary assistance to lower the costs to parents for the out-of-town field trips taken by the upper school students. Yearly stipends are provided to teachers to help with their out-of-pockets classroom expenses and also to subsidize those teachers who choose to continue their education with graduate level courses.
The organization sponsors regular family fun nights, restaurant nights, a new family social, and a first grade "meet and greet." Each year our PTO honors grandparents with a special day and luncheon, and provides beautification for the school grounds.
In all aspects, the Mason Prep PTO strives to achieve the goals of its mission statement and to encourage the "family" nature of the Mason Prep community.
