Earlier this year, we notified many of you about a data security incident involving the School’s third-party software service provider, Blackbaud. At that time, Blackbaud indicated that the exposed data was encrypted and contained no account numbers or other sensitive financial information. However, Blackbaud recently informed the School that the security incident may have exposed the sensitive financial or identifying information of a limited number of constituents in our database. Blackbaud has specifically identified the impacted individuals and the School is reaching out to those constituents directly with additional details about the exposure and what it means for each of them. The School will send the individual notifications to the last mailing and email addresses on file.
We will continue to maintain open communication with Blackbaud regarding developments in the investigation of this incident and Blackbaud’s efforts to improve its security protocols. Regardless of whether or not you receive additional contact from the School or Blackbaud detailing a direct exposure of your sensitive financial or identifying information, we recommend you remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity or suspected identity theft to the proper authorities.
