Teacher Appreciation Week!
Every day is a great day to thank a teacher. Teacher Appreciation Week is April 22-26 and the Faculty & Staff Luncheon will be hosted by the PTO on Wednesday, April 24. For more information, please contact Julie Scarafile.

Summer Literature Course for 7th & 8th Graders
We will be offering a two-week literature course this summer to interested 7th and 8th grade students. It will be held the weeks of June 10 and 17, Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 12:00. The course will be taught by Miss Ashton Hooker, our 5th/6th grade reading and GVC teacher, and will be free of charge for our students. Miss Hooker is currently developing a poetry curriculum for this course that will include application of poetry terms, analysis, and creation of poetry or other writing that includes current poetry reading/writing standards. More details will be shared as they become available. Please email Roseann Jordan if you are interested in having your student participate in this course.

Yearbook Ordering Ends April 30!
We want all students to have a yearbook, so get your child's today - ordering ends April 30! Order here. Plus, if we sell 56 more yearbooks, our hard working yearbook staff will win a pizza party!

PTO Family Impact Awards - Nominate a Family!
Every year, the PTO recognizes two families: one Lower School (K-4) and one Upper School (5-8) for the Family Impact Award. The purpose of the award is to recognize the contributions of the family to the quality of the Mason Prep experience and to encourage family involvement in the school.All families are encouraged to submit a nomination (download the nomination form here). Nominations are due Monday, April 29 and should be sent to Amy Skipper.These are very important awards. Thank you for your participation and support. Box Top Dress Down Day
And the winner is...Castle Montagu! In celebration of winning the box top contest, Castle Montagu will enjoy a dress down day on Friday, April 26! For more information, please contact Elaina England.


REMINDERS
Sports Banquet May 2 - RSVP by April 23
Our annual Sports Banquet, celebrating all Mason Prep students who participated on a team this year (4th-8th girls and boys basketball, 5th-8th girls volleyball, 4th-8th boys and girls tennis, and 6th-8th boys and girls golf) will be held on May 2 at 5:30. Download the invitation/registration form here. Please be sure to RSVP (whether your family will or will not attend) by April 23 as we need to order the correct amount of food. We can't wait to celebrate our athletes!

Race the Landing May 2
Join Running Club on May 2 at Race the Landing. Be sure to sign up for the May 2 5K (not the Kids Fun Run). Please let faculty sponsors Denise Hilton or Dan McNamee know if you plan to join us. If you have a Mason Prep Running Club t-shirt, please wear it!

Bricks 4 Kidz: Sign Up for Final Session!
Our afterschool program, Bricks 4 Kidz, will be offering a final session this semester for students in K–3rd grades. The final session will begin April 25 and will run for four weeks ending on May 16. Please register using the attached formand sending it back to the front office with your payment ASAP. We hope that many of our K–3rd grade students will be able to enjoy this final session of Bricks 4 Kidz.


Summer Academy is Filling Up!
Don't miss the chance to register your child for Summer Academy (July 8-12). Summer Academy is a wonderful opportunity for students to enrich their learning in reading and math by focusing on important skills to prepare for the next grade level. Details and registration info may be found here.

Camp Art Attack!
This summer camp, held at the College of Charleston, provides an arts based educational program for rising kindergarten through sixth grade students. The curriculum is taught by College of Charleston School of Education Graduate students and provides an excellent experience in STEAM education. Learn more here.
