Mrs. Susan Baker

Mrs. Baker is a fourth grade teacher currently in her 30th year at Mason Prep.
Why do you teach?
I teach because I enjoy being with children and watching them mature and learn. There's nothing better than seeing a child achieve an "aha" moment. Also, it's great fun talking with the children one-on-one and getting their perspective on things. Every day in the classroom is different. Hopefully, I help the children learn. I know they certainly help me learn.

Why do you choose to teach at Mason Prep?
Mason Prep is a family. The faculty and staff members genuinely want what is best for the students and they genuinely care for each other as well. There is always someone willing to help out in a pinch.

What do you enjoy outside of school?
My husband and I love seeing our children and grandchildren whenever we can. We also enjoy getting together with friends either on the water or in someone's yard for a cookout. When the weather is warm, you can find us out in the boat.
Mason Preparatory School is committed to the education of the whole child in preparation for secondary education through the cultivation of respect, integrity, and personal responsibility within a nurturing environment that results in a productive citizen of a global community.
