Mrs. Grey Thomas

Mrs. Thomas teaches 7th and 8th grade GVC (Grammar, Vocabulary, and Composition) and motivates her students to do their best each day!
Why do you teach at Mason Prep?
I teach because I have a genuine passion for reading and writing, and I enjoy sharing my passion with others. I also love our incredible students at Mason Prep. They motivate me and make me laugh every single day.

What is the most important life lesson that you want students to take from your classes?
The most important life lesson that I want students to learn from my class is that hard work truly opens doors. If students are willing to work hard in my class, I do my best to make sure they are rewarded. Effort matters!

What do you like to do for fun?
As one might expect of a literature teacher, I love to read in my spare time. I also enjoy spending time with my family, taking long walks, and travelling.

Any interesting facts about you that you would like to share?
I am looking forward to participating in the 2021 Lowcountry Writing Project Invitational Summer Institute, a program at The Citadel that enables teachers to practice using research-based methods to enhance students' writing. Several Mason Prep teachers have already participated in the program, and I am thrilled that I will also have the opportunity!
