Servant Leadership in the Middle School Classroom

7th and 8th graders have an exploratory class period each day. During this time, teachers focus on lessons and skills that are outside of the curriculum. For example, students might learn study skills, make student-produced videos, or even learn life skills like wrapping a package or writing a thank you note.

During fourth quarter, our 7th and 8th grade science teacher, Mr. Dan McNamee, is offering an exploratory class on servant leadership. The curriculum for the class was developed by Mr. McNamee and his father, Dr. David McNamee, who is an expert on servant leadership. In this podcast, the two McNamees discuss servant leadership and what our students will learn through this class. We look forward to checking in at the end of the quarter to hear how students responded to the class and about the valuable lessons they learned.
