Academic excellence is at the heart of everything we do at Mason Preparatory School. While our classrooms are the places where the foundations for learning are built, experiences outside of the classrooms are essential to a rich education. These opportunities are available throughout a student's Mason Prep experience. Enrichment opportunities abound because of the diversity of our students' backgrounds and the effective partnership we develop with our parents. Mason Prep can access an amazing pool of resources within our school family. Parents visit the school frequently to share their professional and personal skills, talents, experiences, and cultural backgrounds with our students.
Our unique science program, MasonFEST, gives all students special opportunities to experience science outside the classroom.
Our intermediate and middle school students have the opportunity to participate in programs such as:
- KNI-TV (Mason Prep's in-house TV station, which broadcasts 2 mornings per week)
- Writer's Workshop
Our middle school students enjoy an "Exploratory" period each day. This time allows them to try various activities including:
- Drama (7th & 8th graders are allowed to audition for the annual school play - this is a very popular activity!)
- Studying & Test Taking Skills
Middle school students are invited to compete in the National Geographic Geography Bee, and are eligible to participate in several SCISA-sponsored events such as the Spelling Bee and Quiz Bowl competitions.
