Financial Aid

Mason Preparatory School offers financial assistance to our students based on demonstrated financial need. We realize that sending your child to an independent school requires a great financial commitment, and we deeply appreciate our parents placing their trust in Mason Prep for their children's education. Our administration and Board of Trustees are committed to maintaining Mason Prep’s affordability for our current families and to making Mason Prep more accessible to new families.

Mason Prep uses the School and Student Services (SSS) program sponsored by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) to manage the application process in a fair, consistent and confidential manner.

Financial Aid Application Process

The SSS parent website for financial aid applications for the 2018-19 school year opened in October 2017. Parents interested in applying for financial aid awards should follow these steps:

  1. Read the SSS Family Guide to Financial Aid to help you understand how financial aid works.
  2. Download the SSS Parents' Financial Statement Workbook and Instruction Booklet, which is designed to walk you through the application process.
  3. Visit the SSS site (solutionsbysss.com/parents) and complete a Parents' Financial Statement (PFS). A non-refundable fee of $49 is required in order to submit the PFS to SSS.
  4. Submit the required tax documents, such as W-2 form(s) and tax return(s) by uploading them to SSS online. All information you provide will be kept in strict confidence.  However, applications for financial aid submitted without the required documentation will not be considered.
  5. New families applying to Mason Prep for grades K-8 for the 2018-19 school year should complete steps 1 through 4 by February 20, 2018, in order for a potential financial aid award letter to accompany an acceptance letter.

For current Mason Prep families
You must submit your PFS and all required documentation by February 9, 2018, in order for your financial aid application to be considered in the first round of decision making before the February 15 reenrollment due date.

Applications for financial aid for the 2018-19 school year must include a 2017 W-2 and tax returns for 2015 and 2016. While we will carefully consider financial aid applications received during the spring and summer, there is no guarantee that additional aid will be available, so we urge you to file your application as soon as possible.
