Pre-Kindergarten

Fueling Imagination and Sparking Curiosity

Our Pre-K classes are small, loving environments where teachers know each student and can provide instruction based on how they learn best. We want students to love coming to school and to look forward to learning each and every day. This happy, active, and supportive environment gives students a head start as they begin their educational journey.

The Mason Prep Pre-K program is different from traditional preschool programs as it provides more structure and an emphasis on academics and Kindergarten readiness. Our program is a perfect fit for students who may not be quite ready for kindergarten and need a more robust academic experience.

Our Program

Foundational Learning

The Mason Prep Pre-K program is focused on academics and Kindergarten preparation. Lessons are taught in a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate way to foster a love of learning. Support and encouragement are cornerstones of our program, helping our youngest Knights build their confidence and independence.

Special Areas & Engagement

Pre-K Knights enjoy many opportunities for engagement and experiential learning. These include special area activities such as art and music and in-school field trips (a favorite is a visit from the Fire Department!). We believe that experiences outside of the academic curriculum are essential to a rich education. Weekly Special Area classes include: - Innovation & Design (STEM) - Music - Art - Social-Emotional Learning - Physical Education - Library

The Knight Community

Our Pre-K students are truly part of our Mason Prep family. They see older students in the hallways, hear morning announcements about students' accomplishments such as Knight of the Day, learn about our Castle system as “Squires,” and have special get-togethers with their older “Picture Pals.” By including our youngest students in all things MPS, they begin to understand the importance of learning and character, the foundations of an MPS education.

Peek into Pre-K!

We chose MPS for the quality of education. We wanted our child to have the best opportunity to learn and grow. We looked at many schools in the area, and we spent a lot of time talking with other school staff, students, and parents. We had high school administrators tell us that Mason Prep students were some of the most well prepared and well-rounded students coming into high school. That carried a lot of weight with us!

MPS Parents

We are thrilled with our child's Pre-K experience at Mason Prep. Via a team of exceptional educators and dedicated administrators, the program has proven to be unique in its ability to blend an academically advanced curriculum with a highly nurturing environment. We have watched our daughter learn to read, gain more confidence, and make lasting friendships.

MPS Parent

We chose Mason Prep's Pre-K program because we wanted our daughter to be well-prepared for kindergarten. We were drawn to the low student-to-teacher ratio and the opportunity for her to benefit from all that Mason Prep has to offer, including specials (PE, art, media, music, and Innovation & Design) and a strong social-emotional learning curriculum.
