New Families


We are so happy to have our new families joining the Mason Prep family! Though it won’t take long for you to feel right at home at Mason Prep, we thought the following information might be helpful. And remember – you can always contact the office with any questions you may have (scroll down for contact information). 

For our incoming families for the 2019-20 school year, we will contact you via email with important information and dates (and will also post those here as they are available). 

School Supplies
There are 2 options for purchasing school supplies.
1. Our PTO provides pre-packaged boxes of supplies that you order in the spring and then pick up at school in August. You can find information on that service here.
2. You may also purchase your own supplies. The list of supplies for each grade will be available in early summer. You will be able to find the list here and it will also be emailed to you as part of the summer packet.

Mason Prep students are not required to wear an everyday school uniform. Your child will wear a PE uniform twice a week for PE class. Students are also required to wear a collared Mason Prep shirt for field trips. 

PE Uniforms
Girls - On the bottom, girls typically choose to wear one of the skorts or athletic shorts. On the top, the younger girls seem to like the “Peter Pan” collared polo. The older girls seem to like the athletic performance t-shirt. 
Boys - On the bottom, there are different styles and fits of athletic shorts. On the top the boys seem to like the athletic active poly polo or the athletic performance t-shirt.

Also, the PTO hosts used uniform sales during the year. Information about these sales will be given to you as they are held.

You may opt to have your student bring a lunch or to order from outside vendors through our lunch program organized by our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Ordering is done through, and you can choose which days your student will receive lunch. Each month, you will receive an email from the school reminding you to sign up for lunches for the following month. More information may be found on the Parent Resources page under PTO Information.

Additionally, milk may be ordered for your student to have with lunch. More information may be found on the Parent Resources page.

Extended Care and Afterschool Programs
Extended care is available nearly every day of the school year from 3:05 – 5:45pm. Extended care is available on an as-needed basis; no commitment or reservations are needed. Parents will be billed monthly.

Information about afterschool programs will be sent home near the beginning of each semester. For an idea of the offerings, view the current list of afterschool programs here.

Team Sports
Information about team sports will be sent home or emailed at the appropriate point during the year. If your child is participating in a team sport, you will need to complete three forms which can be found on the parent resource page.
